Level 4 Award in Design and Verification of Electrical Installations

This qualification is intended for personnel in electrical contracting companies who have responsibility for the quality of the design, specification, installation and testing process. It covers in particular the implications of BS7671.

The qualification consists of a written examination and an assignment, before attempting this qualification, candidates should seriously consider completing 2391-52 and have achieved 2382-18 or similar qualifications where knowledge and understanding of BS7671 18th edition IET wiring regulations has been demonstrated.

  1. Written Examination
    10 questions 3hour duration, open book, BS7671, On-Site Guide and Guidance Notes 1 & 3 are permitted.
  2. Assignment Overview
    Candidates are required to complete three tasks to achieve the assessment for this unit:
  • A Preparing Electrical Installation design (2 questions)
  • B Carry out electrical installation design (7 questions)
  • C Provide electrical installation design detail (3 questions)

The overall time allowance for the assignment is 40 hours, candidates may use electronic versions of drawings and drawing software.

Candidate’s names and date of birth must be received before the 7th of the month prior to their examination.
